and a 1 hour drive from Caen-Ouistreham, on the Normandy
landings site, close to the Channel Islands (Jersey,
Guernesey, Aurigny), near the Mont Saint

important events which have marked the twentieth century.

marking the first steps towards freedom during

A 5 minutes walk from the church where John Steel,
the famous parachutist remained hanged to its steeple
in the night of June, 6th 1944. He thus pretended
to be dead and was detached by the German soldier
